2027 Renault Kwid Facelift
Renault has launched the updated 2027 Kwid in Brazil, just days after the facelifted hatchback was spotted undisguised. This is the second major facelift for current-generation Kwid and brings relatively modest exterior revisions but a significantly upgraded cabin.
Renault Kwid has been on sale in Brazil since 2017 and has crossed 5 lakh unit sales in the country. More than 8 lakh units have also been produced at Renault’s Ayrton Senna manufacturing complex in São José dos Pinhais, including vehicles destined for exports.

2027 Renault Kwid – What’s New?
Exterior changes are concentrated primarily at the front. Renault has redesigned the bumper with sharper detailing, while the grille gets a gloss black treatment and incorporates the company’s latest design identity. Overall body shape and proportions remain unchanged.
LED daytime running lights and a shark-fin antenna are now offered across the range. Changes at the rear are relatively subtle, with revised tail lamps featuring transparent lenses and black internal elements. Reversing camera has also been repositioned and integrated into the Renault logo. Top-spec Outsider variant gets additional visual differentiation through a dual-tone roof, new graphics, body cladding and 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

New Dashboard With Two Screens
The biggest transformation is on the inside. Renault has completely redesigned Kwid’s dashboard, making the 2027 model look considerably more modern than its predecessor. Higher variants also get a new multifunction steering wheel, two USB Type-C ports, reversing camera and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
A new 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster is accompanied by a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system positioned alongside it. The larger Media Evolution infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Renault has retained hard plastics considering Kwid’s positioning as an affordable hatchback, but changes to textures, upholstery and trim are intended to improve the overall cabin experience. Techno variant gets blue fabric upholstery, while Outsider variant combines fabric and synthetic materials for a different appearance.
Same 1.0-Litre Engine
There are no major mechanical changes with this facelift. Brazilian-spec 2027 Kwid continues with its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder SCe flex-fuel engine. Running on flex fuel, it produces 71 hp and 98 Nm of torque, while petrol output stands at 68 hp and 92 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox remains standard, sending power to the front wheels.
2027 Renault Kwid Facelift
Kwid continues to benefit from its lightweight construction. Claimed petrol mileage stands at 14.4 km/l in the city and up to 15.4 km/l on the highway under Brazilian testing standards. Boot capacity remains unchanged at 290 litres and expands to around 1,100 litres with the rear seat folded.

Could New Kwid Come To India?
The Brazil launch is particularly interesting from an Indian perspective since Kwid was originally developed around the CMF-A architecture with India playing an important role in the model’s story. Renault currently sells Kwid in India alongside Duster, Triber and Kiger.
While Renault has not announced this 2027 facelift for the Indian market, the extensive interior upgrade could potentially give Kwid a much-needed refresh if introduced here. With Renault preparing a broader product offensive in India, led by new-generation Duster, it remains to be seen whether the updated Kwid will also become part of the company’s plans for the Indian market.
