Mumbai: State-run power producer SJVN Ltd reported a 308 percent year-on-year rise in standalone net profit to Rupees 125.40 crore in Q4 FY26, supported by higher revenue recognition linked to tariff orders for its hydroelectric projects. Revenue from operations for the March quarter more than doubled to Rupees 933.92 crore from Rupees 445.99 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while total income stood at Rupees 1,047.70 crore against Rupees 572.97 crore a year ago. The company said quarterly revenue included Rupees 497.03 crore relating to earlier years following receipt of tariff orders for truing-up of tariffs for Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) and Rampur Hydro Power Station (RHPS). SJVN added that provisional tariff orders for RHPS for the 2024-29 period also contributed to revenue recognition during the quarter. Sequential profit declines amid higher financeDespite the sharp annual increase, net profit declined 50.2 percent sequentially from Rupees 251.71 crore reported in Q3 FY26. Profit before tax fell to Rupees 244.79 crore from Rupees 457.62 crore in the preceding quarter due to a steep rise in finance and impairment-related expenses. Finance costs during Q4 FY26 rose to Rupees 309.82 crore compared with Rupees 148.46 crore in Q3 FY26, while depreciation, amortisation, and impairment expenses increased sharply to Rupees 290.22 crore from Rupees 113.09 crore.

The company recognised impairment losses amounting to Rupees 174.11 crore during the quarter following the assessment of its cash-generating units under Ind AS 36. Total expenses during Q4 FY26 increased to Rupees 802.91 crore from Rupees 517.38 crore in the year-ago period and Rupees 424.27 crore in Q3 FY26.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rupees 0.32 compared with Rupees 0.08 in Q4 FY25 and Rupees 0.64 in the previous quarter. Total comprehensive income came in at Rupees 126.25 crore against Rupees 23.15 crore in the corresponding period last year.FY26 profit crosses Rs 1,000 croreFor the full financial year FY26, SJVN reported standalone revenue from operations of Rupees 3,544.52 crore against Rupees 2,897.25 crore in FY25, registering a 22.3 percent increase. Annual standalone net profit rose 3.9 percent to Rupees 1,007.90 crore from Rupees 970.18 crore in the previous fiscal. Total comprehensive income for FY26 stood at Rupees 999.85 crore.The board recommended a final dividend of Rupees 0.35 per equity share for FY26 in addition to the interim dividend of Rupees 1.15 per share declared in February 2026, taking the total dividend payout for the year to Rupees 1.50 per share.
