Upcoming Mid-Size SUV Showcased –
Currently, the Jeep India lineup includes the Wrangler, Compass, Meridian and the Grand Cherokee. Industry rumours suggest that the American automaker might replace the Compass with a new SUV, and the recently showcased model could be a perfect fit. While the brand has not shared any major details about the SUV, it has instead released concept images.
The concept model features a chunky bonnet and connected DRLs running across it. Overall, the SUV gets a boxy design, flush-type door handles and more. The grille looks identical to the Compass, with seven slots. Moreover, the skid plate at the bottom indicates that this SUV is off-road-ready – making it a 4×4. The concept SUV looks large and is expected to have a strong road presence. However, many of these details won’t make it into the production model.

Another thing we can expect is that this new Jeep SUV could be based on Tata’s new ARGOS platform. This platform currently underpins the Sierra and can be used by Jeep for its new SUV. One major thing about this platform is that it can support multi-powertrains, including ICE, Hybrid, CNG, and is also compatible with a 4×4. Jeep has not announced the exact launch timeline of this upcoming SUV. However, at the investor meet, the automaker revealed that it could come by 2028, which is still some time away, considering that this model is in the early stages of production. Moreover, we can expect the model to be priced starting from Rs 15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
