The Seltos made a very stylish and compelling comeback in its new-gen avatar, with attractive styling, a slew of new features and best-in-class safety. However, Kia may not just stop at that, as rumours suggest that a new Seltos will soon be coming to India with impressive fuel economy figures, as it might get a new hybrid powertrain for the first time in India. So, let’s take a look at the expected mileage of the new Seltos. Attention Readers! Join us on the WhatsApp Community for daily auto news updates.
Kia Seltos Hybrid Expected Mileage
The Seltos in the international markets already gets a hybrid powertrain, but the India-spec Seltos has missed out on it until now. The new-gen Seltos is expected to get a hybrid powertrain in India. In the international markets, the Seltos comes equipped with a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, but we believe that the India spec will get a new 1.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, likely utilising its existing 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. However, unlike the international-spec Seltos, the Indian spec may not get AWD, unless there’s a massive demand for it. Now, the highlight of a hybrid powertrain is the mileage it will have to offer. While no official details about the powertrain are out, we believe that the Seltos hybrid could offer a claimed mileage of 25+kmpl, which will be quite an impressive figure.
The Seltos’ rival, the Duster and the upcoming Tekton will be getting new hybrid powertrains, while the Sierra’s ARGOS platform is hybrid-ready. So, Kia would want in on this new trend to attract more buyers with the impressive fuel efficiency figures. As of now, no launch date for the Seltos hybrid has been confirmed, but we believe that Kia could launch this by mid-2027. Hybrids usually carry a heftier price tag than the usual engine options, and we believe that the Seltos Hybrid will carry a price tag ranging from Rs 19 lakh to Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), assuming the hybrid powertrain will be offered from the mid-spec variant.

What Else?
Apart from the hybrid powertrain, the rest of the features and tech on offer will likely remain the same. The Seltos gets a slew of features like a trinity display setup, a panoramic sunroof, level 2 ADAS, a powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad and much more. Kia will continue to offer the existing powertrain options: a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (113bhp & 144Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel engine (114bhp & 250Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (158bhp & 253Nm). That said, the introduction of the hybrid might just boost the Seltos’ sales and offer a more fuel-efficient alternative to the existing powertrains. So, would you get the upcoming Seltos hybrid?
