Mahindra Vision S Spied
Mahindra’s upcoming Vision S SUV has been spotted testing once again on the narrow streets of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. Similar to the previous sighting, two camouflaged test mules were seen driving back-to-back through the town’s congested lanes by automotive enthusiast Sanchit and Tony Narula. While the overall design remains heavily disguised, the latest spy shots reveal an important new detail that clears up one of the biggest questions surrounding the SUV’s front-end lighting.
Circular LED Headlights Were Never Production Spec
Until now, previous test mules of Vision S had been seen with circular LED projector headlights. Since the same setup appeared on multiple prototypes, it was widely believed that these could make it to production. However, the latest spy shots tell a different story.

One of the two test vehicles continues to use the circular LED units, which now appear to be temporary assemblies rather than the final lighting package. These lights closely resemble the LED projector units seen on Thar and are likely being used only for testing purposes. The second prototype, however, debuts what appears to be the production-spec headlamp arrangement for the first time.
Production Lighting Matches Vision S Concept
The newly spotted test mule features vertically stacked projector headlamps housed within the bumper, accompanied by distinctive inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights. This lighting signature matches the Mahindra Vision S concept that was showcased at the Freedom NU event in August 2025.

Unlike the temporary circular setup, the new DRL arrangement closely follows the concept vehicle, suggesting Mahindra is staying remarkably faithful to the original design. The DRLs frame the projector module in an inverted L shape, while the rest of the front fascia retains the upright SUV stance first previewed with the concept.

Apart from the lighting, the front continues to feature the rectangular grille with multiple vertical slats, a centrally positioned Mahindra logo area, chunky bumper design and vertically stacked fog lamp housing, all of which align with previous sightings.
Two Different Headlight Setups Spotted Together
Interestingly, both test mules were travelling together through Mussoorie despite wearing different headlight configurations. This indicates Mahindra is simultaneously validating different prototype components during the development phase.

The presence of the temporary circular units alongside the production-spec lighting strongly suggests the former was never intended for customer vehicles. Instead, it was likely a convenient solution using existing Mahindra parts while the final lighting hardware was still under development.
What To Expect
Vision S is expected to be the first production model based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ architecture. Industry speculation suggests it could be christened as Scorpio Sport or Thar Sport, although the final name has not yet been confirmed. The SUV retains its boxy proportions, upright stance and clamshell bonnet from the concept, while remaining within sub-4 metre dimensions.
Previous sightings have confirmed diesel-powered prototypes, while petrol and electric versions are also expected to join the lineup. Interior spy shots have suggested that Mahindra will carry over several design elements from the concept, along with a comprehensive feature list depending on the variant. Launch is expected sometime in 2027, with Vision S likely to be the first among Mahindra’s four Vision concept SUVs to enter production.
