Mahindra has been pretty silent this year, by their own standards. Except for the launch of the XUV3XO EV and XUV7XO, it has been quite inactive in terms of launches. Fortunately, that is set to change soon, as Mahindra has notified us of a potential launch on India’s Independence Day. The Indian automaker has been pretty secretive about it, but that won’t stop us from guessing which launch it could be. Attention Readers! Upcoming Mahindra SUV – Big Scorpio Revamp?
It seems quite likely that Mahindra will bring updates to the Scorpio badge. A Scorpio N test mule (with a larger infotainment screen and a panoramic sunroof) was spotted a couple of months ago, suggesting that the facelift could launch pretty soon. We expect the Scorpio N to get a couple of additional features and revised aesthetics with the facelift. At the same time, it could also be refreshing the Scorpio Classic. The Classic isn’t meant for the feature-seeking crowd, and updates to it are expected to be purely aesthetic. Powertrain options for both models would likely carry over from the current model.
Mahindra has also displayed the pickup versions of the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. There is a real possibility that these pickups could be launched next month. Pickup trucks are usually associated with a bare-bones nature, and these pickups could change this perspective upon launch.

Mahindra BE.07
Currently, Mahindra’s “BE” brand has only one model in its lineup – the BE.06, which is why it could soon see an expansion. The BE.07 has been spotted a couple of times, and it isn’t that far-fetched to expect its launch. After all, Mahindra already has the INGLO (EV) architecture ready for use. The BE.07 is a 5-seater SUV and would likely go up against the Tata Harrier.ev. It could share the 59kWH, 70 kWh, and 79kWh packs with the XEV9S.
Upcoming Mahindra SUV – Vision S?
Of all the Mahindra test mules, the Vision S has been spotted testing most frequently. It is expected to be a sub-4m SUV, which could share the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines with the XUV3XO. Moreover, Mahindra has indicated its intention to introduce hybrid technology across its models, and the Vision S could be one of the models to benefit from this newly developed tech.
However, Mahindra had announced that the NU_IQ platform-based concepts would undergo production from 2027. Unless Mahindra prepone the production plans, the Vision S seems highly unlikely to be launched next month.

More Concept Models?
Last Independence Day, Mahindra unveiled the NU_IQ platform and the concepts based on it. So could it be showcasing another set of concepts this Independence? That seems improbable, as Mahindra already has a long list of concepts like the Vision X, Vision T, Vision SXT, BE.09 and the BE.07 planned.
Hybrid Technology Debut?
Industry sources suggest that Mahindra is working on range extender technology for its EVs and series hybrid tech for the ICE models. The XEV9S range-extender, XUV7XO hybrid and the XUV3XO hybrid are just some of the expected HEVs from Mahindra. This technology would mark an important step in Mahindra’s future ambitions, and what better day to debut such monumental technology than Independence Day?
