Six Airbags, ESC Standard
Bharat NCAP’s report also reveals the safety equipment offered with new Brezza. Driver and front passenger airbags are joined by curtain airbags and side chest airbags. Front seatbelts get pretensioners and load limiters. ESC is standard, along with pedestrian protection and seatbelt reminders for the driver, front passenger and rear occupants. Importantly, Bharat NCAP states that ESC, curtain airbags, pedestrian protection and seatbelt reminders are standard across all variants covered by the rating.
New 1.0L Turbo Petrol Engine Listed
The annexure accompanying the crash-test report also reveals an interesting detail about new Brezza’s powertrain lineup. Apart from the familiar 1.5-litre petrol with 6MT and 6AT, Bharat NCAP lists a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
New Maruti Brezza Facelift Variants
The 1.0L Turbo 6MT is listed across LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ variants. For the 1.5L 6MT, the rating similarly covers LXI through ZXI+, while 1.5L 6AT variants listed are VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. This confirms Maruti Suzuki will introduce a new turbo-petrol option with Brezza facelift, although complete specifications and positioning should become clear at tomorrow’s launch.
