Royal Enfield is keen on expanding the Himalayan family to attract more buyers into their popular and celebrated motorcycle family. We’re talking about the soon-to-launch Himalayan 440 with the LS440 engine which we first experienced in Scram 440. The launch of Himalayan 440 will happen on 4th September 2026.
The current Himalayan 450 with the Sherpa 450 engine is priced between Rs 3.08 lakh and Rs 3.4 lakh (Ex-sh). Upcoming Himalayan 440 is expected to be positioned much lower in terms of pricing, attracting customers. Ahead of its 4th September launch, units have started to arrive at dealerships showing us what to expect from this popular ADV motorcycle.

Ahead of its 4th September launch, Himalayan 440 has started to reach showrooms. Reddit user ninjakitten21 has posted two pictures showing Himalayan 440 at a showroom depot. These pictures show the motorcycle from the back and its instrument cluster showing some of the talked about features on this bike.
There are talks about cross-spoke wheels with Himalayan 440 (fingers crossed). However, this particular unit in the pictures, the wheels are not cross-spoke and look like they’re regular wire-spoke wheels. Himalayan 450 gets cross-spoke wheels and is compatible with tubeless tyres and we hope same is offered with Himalayan 440 in higher variants, perhaps.

Another feature we can see in these spy shots is the presence of a Tripper Screen, which will enable features like Bluetooth connectivity, app connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and others. It has to be noted that the new instrument cluster on Himalayan 440 has a twin pod design which has one large circular pod housing the analogue speedo and an LCD screen for trip, fuel, gear position, RPM and others.
The second pod is the Tripper Screen. Previously, Himalayan 411 used to get a four-pod instrument cluster as standard and it became a five-pod unit if you opt for a Tripper Screen. There was dedicated analogue tacho, analogue fuel gauge and a digital compass.

What to expect?
In terms of design, Himalaya 440 is expected to look almost identical to Himalayan 411 of the past. We can see the rear of Himalayan 440 in these spy shots and it looked identical to Himalayan 411. Tail lights, indicators, rear fender, circular ORVMs, same windshield, functional switchgear, similar exhaust can be seen.
Same long travel suspension from Himalayan 440 along with similar braking hardware and rider’s triangle is expected to be carried forward too. Engine will be shared with Scram 440 and this is a 443cc single-cylinder SOHC 2V/cyl oil-cooled engine with 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
