New Japanese 7-Seater Coming
The Japanese manufacturer in question is Nissan. It plans to enter the market with a new seven-seater SUV. Earlier, the brand introduced a more premium three-row SUV, the X-Trail, but it never took off in sales. This time, the brand is eyeing a much more affordable segment.
So far, the automaker has not revealed any specific details about this upcoming three-row SUV, but as Renault plans to bring the Boreal (a seven-seater version of the Duster) to our shores, its sibling brand, Nissan, could also plan one. Nissan has already described its recent launch, the Tekton, as a mini-Patrol SUV so that the upcoming three-row model could retain most of the design cues.

Features & Powertrain
In terms of features, the new Japanese seven-seater could carry over the equipment list from its five-seater sibling. That said, it could include a 10.1-inch infotainment unit, 10.25-inch instrumentation, powered and ventilated seats, Level-2 ADAS, six airbags (standard), a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
Under the hood, Nissan could probably skip the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, as it could be insufficient for a seven-seater SUV. It could use the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine from the Tekton. Moreover, to make the deal sweeter, Nissan could also bring in the 1.5-litre turbo petrol hybrid engine that powers the Nissan Qashqai in international markets. Now, this mill is known for its fuel efficiency, and it could be an interesting SUV for the region.
