New Toyota 7-Seater Coming: What Is It?

This upcoming 7-seater will essentially be Toyota’s own take on Maruti Suzuki’s next big three-row model, currently being tested under the YMC codename. One twist: it will be Toyota’s first electric seven-seater for the Indian market. Much like how the Toyota eBella shares its bones with the Maruti e Vitara, this new 7-seater will borrow heavily from its upcoming Maruti sibling. So expect near-identical dimensions and underpinnings, with Toyota handling the styling, badging and features for its version.
Expect it to slot in between the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Innova in Toyota’s lineup, with styling cues borrowed from the eBella and the rest of Toyota’s current SUV design language.
Features & Powertrain
Toyota is expected to carry over most of the tech from the eBella’s already-loaded features list. That means a twin-screen setup, powered and ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a sunroof, a JBL sound system, seven airbags, hill hold control, and more. Some more touch-ups could include dedicated AC vents for the third row.
This upcoming seven-seater Toyota could be equipped with a 61kWh battery pack like the eBella. However, the same battery pack in the eBella is claimed to deliver a range of 543km. In contrast, the same battery pack in the seven-seat model could offer a lower range due to its larger size and weight.
Expected Launch & Price
While the Japanese automaker has not yet revealed a specific launch timeline, we expect it to launch somewhere around mid- to late-2027. Pricing is expected to start around Rs 20 lakh and climb toward Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for higher trims.
