In India, mileage still drives many car choices, and Hyundai knows it. In fact, its next SUV, which will sit between the Venue and the Creta, is being built for buyers who want a bigger car without a big fuel bill. It’s the Hyundai Bayon, and the automaker has already commenced bookings. Here is how much mileage we expect from this SUV. Attention Readers! Hyundai Bayon Mileage
Hyundai hasn’t confirmed the engine options yet. However, industry reports suggest the Bayon will get the Creta’s 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (113 bhp & 144Nm). It is likely to come with a six-speed manual and a CVT. The same engine will reportedly also be offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, with the tanks placed under the floor like the Maruti Victoris. That would make it the first Hyundai SUV over four metres in India to get that.
While the Korean automaker has not commented on the mileage yet, we expect this SUV with the CNG powertrain to offer a sufficiently lower running cost than its siblings. That said, with CNG, we expect 20-22 km/kg depending on driving behaviour, while the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine is expected to deliver around 17-19 km/l on paper.

Why The CNG Bayon Could Be Special
The new Bayon will be Hyundai’s direct take on the Maruti siblings, the Victoris and the Grand Vitara. Both offer a CNG powertrain in a mid-size SUV body. To rival them, Hyundai’s Bayon will be a premium alternative in the same space. Moreover, with an underbody CNG tank, this will eventually offer better usability.
On features, the Bayon is expected to offer a dual 10.25-inch screen for infotainment and instrumentation, ADAS, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a sunroof, six airbags, and more.

Launch Timeline & Expected Price
As the brand has already commenced bookings for the model, we expect it to hit the dealerships sometime next month. Pricing-wise, we expect the model to be priced between Rs 10.5 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
