Kolkata: Former Calcutta High Court Justice and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay got hospitalized on Saturday with complaints of vomiting and abdominal pain. According to the doctors of the private hospital on Sunday, Gangopadhyay is ‘critically ill but stable’.According to a statement issued by the hospital, after investigation it has been ascertained that Gangopadhyay has been suffering from acute pancreatitis with gastrointestinal sepsis.The doctors also mentioned that a multi-disciplinary medical board has been formed to monitor Gangopadhyay and also that the BJP MP is kept in ICU and is under continuous monitoring.

“Member of Parliament and former Calcutta High Court judge Mr Abhijit Gangopadhyay, 63, got admitted at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital on Saturday, with complaints of vomiting, abdominal pain, and abdominal distension. A multidisciplinary medical board, comprising internal medicine and critical care specialist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, endocrinologist, gastroenterologist and GI surgeon, has been formed to ensure comprehensive and coordinated management of his condition,” (sic) read a statement issued by Rupak Barua, managing director and CEO Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital.
