Bajaj Auto registered strong sales growth in August 2026, led primarily by a sharp increase in exports. The company sold a total of 5,35,764 vehicles during the month, compared to 4,17,616 units in August 2025. This represents a YoY growth of 28%. Both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles contributed to the increase. However, the standout performance came from overseas markets, where Bajaj shipped 2.80 lakh vehicles during August.
Bajaj Two-Wheeler Sales Up 30%
Bajaj Auto sold 4,43,748 two-wheelers in August 2026, up 30% from 3,41,887 units sold during the corresponding month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased at a relatively moderate pace of 10%, from 1,84,109 units to 2,01,898 units.

Exports were considerably stronger. Bajaj exported 2,41,850 two-wheelers during August, against 1,57,778 units a year ago. That’s an increase of 84,072 units, translating to growth of around 53%. The numbers also highlight how important international markets are to Bajaj’s two-wheeler business. Exports accounted for roughly 54.5% of its total two-wheeler volumes during August, exceeding domestic sales.
Commercial Vehicle Sales Rise 22%
Bajaj’s commercial vehicle business recorded total sales of 92,016 units, compared to 75,729 units in August last year, resulting in 22% YoY growth. Domestic CV volumes increased 11% to 53,810 units from 48,289 units. Exports rose at a much quicker pace of 39%, reaching 38,206 units compared to 27,440 units last year.

Combining two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, Bajaj’s domestic volumes stood at 2,55,708 units, registering 10% YoY growth. Total exports increased 51% to 2,80,056 units. Interestingly, Bajaj exported more vehicles than it sold in India during August, with overseas shipments accounting for around 52.3% of overall volumes.
FY27 Sales Cross 24.48 Lakh Units
For the April-August 2026 period, Bajaj Auto sold 24,48,692 vehicles, up 29% from 18,94,853 units during the same five-month period last year. Two-wheeler volumes reached 20,55,019 units, registering 29% growth. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased 12% to 9,54,192 units, whereas exports jumped 50% to 11,00,827 units.
Once again, exports have actually exceeded domestic volumes. Across two-wheelers and commercial vehicles combined, Bajaj exported 12,66,714 vehicles during April-August, compared to domestic sales of 11,81,978 units. Overall exports are up 50%, while domestic volumes have grown 13%. Commercial vehicle sales during the five-month period increased 28% to 3,93,673 units. Domestic CV sales grew 15%, while exports jumped 50%.
