New Hyundai 7-seater Coming To India

Sometime back, Hyundai announced that it will be expanding its portfolio with new launches. One of them is expected to be its flagship Palisade SUV, which will directly take on the Toyota Fortuner in India. In India, many buyers look for SUVs that offer a very strong road presence, and the Palisade is a really big-looking, muscular SUV out there in the international market. So, this could eventually be a premium alternative for Toyota buyers.

For the international markets, the Palisade is expected to get a next-generation update. Hyundai might plan to introduce the new-gen Palisade in India, following its launch in the international markets. For that reason, its launch might happen a year later.

Interior

Hyundai’s flagship carries its premiumness on the inside too. In terms of features, it could carry a dual-screen setup (for infotainment and instrumentation), a 360-degree camera, ADAS level 2+,  powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad, electric boss mode, HUD, and more in its pack.

So, the Hyundai Palisade won’t be only a name-sake premium, but really premium. Talking further, the Palisade is a 5m-long SUV. That means it boasts a good cabin space – sufficient enough for the 3rd row too.

Powertrain

Talking about the powertrain, currently the Palisade equips a  3.5-litre V6 petrol (mated to an 8-speed AT) and a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid (mated to a 6-speed AT). The SUV also gets an AWD drivetrain option. It is likely that the Indian-spec will be offered with the hybrid option only.

Expected Launch & Price

For the Indian market, Hyundai might bring the new-gen version of the Palisade. That said, we can expect its launch to happen somewhere around late 2027 to early 2028. Speaking about the pricing, the Palisade will be Hyundai’s premium model, apart from the Ioniq. So, we can expect it to be priced between Rs. 50 lakh – Rs. 60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
