The model we are talking about is the Denza Z9 GT. Internationally, it is available as an EV and PHEV, but India will get only the pure electric version. The Z9 GT packs some mad figures. Its triple-motor powertrain (two at the rear, one at the front) develops a mind-boggling 1,140 bhp and 1,210 Nm of torque. It can do the 0-100 km/h run in just 2.7 seconds (top speed: 270 km/h) and offers a WLTP driving range of about 600 kms.
In terms of features too, the Z9 GT will leave you stunned with its rear-wheel steering, sideways crab-crawl feature, Level-2 ADAS, and up to five screens inside! Will all of these features make it to the India-spec models? Yet to be confirmed.
At nearly 5.2 m long, expect the Z9 GT’s cabin to be spacious and comfortable.
Denza Related To BYD?
What does Denza have to do with BYD? Denza is BYD’s luxury brand, catering to a different, higher end of the customer spectrum. BYD is reportedly planning to launch the Denza brand in India. If their plan goes ahead on schedule, it could arrive by the end of 2026. Reports suggest Denza has two models planned for India – the high-performance Z9 GT and the D9 luxury MPV. We expect the D9 to launch first. Both models will launch as CBUs initially.

Price and Rivals
The Denza cars in India will likely be priced from Rs. 80-90 lakh onwards, positioning the brand above BYD in the Indian market. While the Z9 GT will rival the Porsche Taycan and Panamera, the D9 will face tougher competition from the MG M9 and Toyota Vellfire. It will likely be positioned as a middle-ground option between the M9 (below it) and the Vellfire (above it).
