Maruti Brezza Facelift – 5 Star BNCAP
The Maruti Brezza facelift scored 5 out of 5 stars in the BNCAP tests. It scored 30.41 points (out of 32) in adult occupant safety tests, and 43 points (out of 49) in child occupant safety tests. These numbers are pretty decent and better than those of the segment-leader Tata Nexon, but it still falls short of the Korean counterparts , Hyundai Venue and Kia Seltos.
In the frontal offset barrier test, the chest and knee region of the driver were adequately protected while the head, pelvis and foot region received good protection. In the side moveable deformable test, all parts of the driver were well protected.
As for the safety equipment, the Brezza gets 6 airbags (standard), ISOFIX child seats at the rear, seat-belt reminder, ESC and ABS. Reports also suggest that it would get blind-spot monitoring, TPMS, 360-degree camera, rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle exit warning, front parking sensors and much more.

Maruti Brezza Facelift – Powertrain Confirmed
The model on test was the 1.5-litre petrol-AT variant, which basically confirms the speculation that the 1.5-litre NA engine would stay. And on the official report, it has also been listed that there will be a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine on offer. The 1.5-litre NA engine would get a 5-speed manual and 6-speed AT as gearbox options, while the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol will be available only with a 6-speed manual. Both engine options are available across all variants. However, the 6-speed AT gearbox will only be on offer from VXI onwards (not available on base LXI).
With the addition of a new engine, the Brezza would manage to comply with the sub-4m tax rule. Currently, it is priced between Rs 9.62 – 15.31 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The pricing could see a Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 price cut. However, the CNG variants could see a small price hike of around Rs 25,000 to Rs 45,000 due to the new underbody CNG technology.
