MG Hector Tomahawk EV has entered India’s increasingly competitive electric SUV market with both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. Prices range from Rs 19.50 lakh to Rs 23.50 lakh, while the limited-period BaaS option lowers the initial cost to Rs 13.99 lakh–Rs 17.49 lakh, plus battery rental.
The five-seat Tomahawk EV primarily rivals Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e, whereas its seven-seat version takes on Mahindra XEV 9S. Here is how they compare.

Hector Tomahawk EV Vs Tata Harrier EV
At 4,745 mm, Hector Tomahawk EV is 138 mm longer than Harrier EV. It is also 30 mm taller and has a 69 mm longer wheelbase. However, Harrier EV is wider by 72 mm. Tomahawk offers 610 litres of boot space in five-seat form, compared to Harrier EV’s 502 litres. Unlike the Tata, it does not have a frunk.
Tomahawk uses a 69.2 kWh battery delivering a certified range of 517 km. Harrier EV offers 65 kWh and 75 kWh batteries, with claimed range extending up to 627 km in RWD form. Its AWD version offers 622 km.

MG’s front-mounted motor produces 204 hp and 310 Nm. Harrier EV is considerably more powerful, producing 238 hp in RWD form and 313 hp with AWD. The dual-motor version accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, compared to Tomahawk’s 8.2 seconds. Harrier also supports faster DC charging of up to 120 kW, against 90 kW for the MG. However, Tomahawk’s Rs 19.50 lakh starting price undercuts Harrier EV, which starts at Rs 21.69 lakh.
Hector Tomahawk EV Vs Mahindra XEV 9e
Mahindra XEV 9e is 44 mm longer and 57 mm wider than Tomahawk, but the MG is 76 mm taller. Tomahawk also has a 35 mm longer wheelbase. Boot capacity stands at 610 litres for the MG and 663 litres for XEV 9e. Mahindra additionally provides a 150-litre frunk.

XEV 9e offers 59 kWh and 79 kWh batteries with up to 656 km of certified range. Its rear-mounted motor develops up to 286 hp and 380 Nm. This gives it a clear performance advantage over the 204 hp, 310 Nm Tomahawk. Mahindra’s 180 kW DC charging capability is also twice MG’s 90 kW rating. Prices for XEV 9e range from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 29.35 lakh. Tomahawk is more affordable and is the only one to offer BaaS.
Hector Tomahawk EV Vs Mahindra XEV 9S
For buyers needing three rows, XEV 9S is Tomahawk’s closest direct rival. MG is 8 mm longer, 23 mm taller and has a 48 mm longer wheelbase. XEV 9S is wider by 50 mm. Tomahawk offers 192 litres of boot capacity with all three rows in use, while XEV 9S gets a 150-litre frunk.

XEV 9S offers 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh batteries, with range extending from 521 km to 679 km. Outputs range from 231 hp to 286 hp, while torque is rated at 380 Nm. While the Mahindra leads in range, performance and charging speed, Hector Tomahawk EV counters with competitive pricing, a long equipment list and significantly lower entry cost under BaaS.
