New Hyundai SUV Patented –

Hyundai has now patented another SUV, which was previewed as the Boulder concept back in April. For a general idea, the Boulder is Hyundai’s attempt to include a hardcore off-roader with a boxy silhouette and futuristic interiors.
The patented image shows several differences from the concept model – such as a changed bumper, skid plate housing, and several other changes on the side profile. What’s carried over from this model are the large, wide, off-road-biased tyres and a roof-mounted carrier. We can also see that the Boulder will have an independent suspension setup.
The Hyundai Boulder will be based on a ladder-on-frame platform and a 4×4 configuration, along with several off-road functionalities. Along with 4×4 full-size SUVs, the Boulder is also expected to take on the Jeep Wrangler.

What Else?
Apart from the patent filed, Hyundai hasn’t yet revealed any specific details about this model. So, what will be equipped under the hood is currently under wraps. However, industry reports suggest that this model will be the first Hyundai to get a body-on-frame platform and also support for an EV powertrain.

Launch & Expected Price
Well, the Hyundai Boulder is currently in the concept stage, and it will take some more time before it enters production. The model is also expected to be launched in the international market before being launched in India. That said, expect the model to launch somewhere by late 2028.
Speaking of pricing, since several details aren’t out yet, it wouldn’t be quite right to make any assumptions about the price. However, if it possibly takes on the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai could price it between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 70 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
