India’s top 10 best-selling two-wheelers recorded combined sales of 12,68,886 units in May 2026, up from 11,76,627 units sold in May 2025. This translated into a volume gain of 92,259 units and a healthy 7.84% year-on-year growth. Hero Splendor and Honda Activa continued to dominate the rankings, while TVS iQube emerged as the fastest-growing model among the top-selling two-wheelers.
Top 10 Two Wheelers May 2026
Hero Splendor remained India’s highest-selling two-wheeler with sales of 3,48,115 units in May 2026. Compared to 3,10,335 units sold in May 2025, Splendor registered a growth of 12.17%, gaining 37,780 units. It commanded a 27.43% share of total sales among the top 10 models.
Top 10 Two Wheelers May 2026
Honda Activa secured second place with 2,28,955 units, posting a stronger 20.05% growth over 1,90,713 units sold a year ago. Activa added 38,242 units and accounted for 18.04% of total sales. Honda Shine continued to hold third position with 1,55,441 units. However, it was among the few models to register a decline, slipping by 1.79% compared to 1,58,271 units sold in May last year.
TVS Jupiter delivered another strong performance, recording sales of 1,24,767 units. This represented a growth of 27.83% over 97,606 units sold in May 2025. Jupiter gained 27,161 units and remained India’s second best-selling scooter after Activa. Bajaj Pulsar followed closely with sales of 1,24,270 units. The popular motorcycle range posted a modest 1.73% growth, adding 2,119 units over the 1,22,151 units sold a year ago.
Top 10 Two Wheelers May 2026
Suzuki Access was at sixth position with 75,729 units. Sales remained largely flat, declining by just 49 units compared to May 2025. Hero HF Deluxe witnessed the steepest decline in the top 10 list. Sales fell from 1,07,768 units in May 2025 to 66,722 units in May 2026, a drop of 41,046 units or 38.09%. TVS Apache recorded sales of 53,900 units, up 9.78% from 49,099 units sold a year ago.
TVS XL also delivered strong growth, rising 30.34% to 48,569 units from 37,264 units. TVS iQube emerged as the fastest-growing model among the top 10 two-wheelers. Electric scooter sales increased from 27,642 units in May 2025 to 42,192 units in May 2026, registering a growth of 52.64%.

Scooters Drive Overall Two-Wheeler Market Growth
Looking at the broader segment-wise performance, total two-wheeler sales rose 14.79% YoY to 19,02,209 units in May 2026, compared to 16,57,116 units in May 2025. Motorcycles continued to account for the largest share at 58.56% with sales of 11,13,973 units, up 7.20% YoY.
However, scooters emerged as the biggest growth driver, registering a sharp 27.38% increase to 7,39,667 units from 5,80,696 units a year ago. The segment added nearly 1.59 lakh units, supported by strong demand for models such as Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and TVS iQube. Moped sales also witnessed healthy growth, rising 30.34% to 48,569 units, largely driven by the TVS XL. The data highlights the growing preference for scooters in urban markets, even as motorcycles continue to dominate overall two-wheeler volumes.
